This is for you guys that play the First-Person-Shooter games. Is there a headset like the X-box Live one that lets you have headphones and a microphone so that you can trash-talk the people you're fragging? If it does exist does it work with all the popular games like HL2, Halo, FarCry, Doom3 etc?? Thanks!

lmao, it existed already years before anyone had ever heard about a 'xbox'. U should be able to pick one up for $10. Of the games u mentioned, only HL2 supports voice communication, and it sucks completely. I myself use Teamspeak to talk to my friends and others while we're fragging together. It's a free program, only problem is that u need to manually connect to a server so it's not like with xbox live where u can just join a random game server and start calling everyone n00b.

Will it work on a LAN like at a Lan-Party?

IMO the best purchase i have ever made was SOCOM for PS2, the headset that came with that is perfect for using teamspeak while playing a game because when you hook up the usb headset it registers as a new audio device, so i can keep my radio chatter separate from all the gun fire and explosions. and i have yet to be able to figure out how to configure conventional headsets to do so...

so if thats the sort of thing you want EB should have some there for ps2 but should work on pc

interesting, so if I've got 10 guys together for a fragfest in Doom3, I'm inferring that if we all run TeamSpeak then we can trash-talk without yelling accross the room or room(s) if in separate rooms?

Yes. It's good for clan communication during games.

Both TS and Vent are good apps.

And you can setup channels, so that you can have different teams on the same server.

Lots of headsets with mic and headphones, but you get what you pay for.

yeah, if u only play with headset I would really make sure u get a good one. If u want good sound quality at least. And why don't u see if u can use the Xbox Live headset for ur PC? Does it work with normal audio connectors or different?

their headset plugs into one of the ports on the controller if i remember correctly, and that means that its probably a proprietary connector and wouldnt work....
