How many points do you want the Not WW5 Contest to go to?

For the curious, the last contest to 250,000 lasted a little over a month, although the results for this one could differ.

Keep in mind there are some serious heavy hitters this time.

Looking at about 25k PPD+

Don't want it to be too short.

Fell free to write in a number too, everything will be considered.

1 million would be awsome and keep us on our toes for a while while increasing production.

i voted for 1.5 mil. That sounds fine for me, but whatever wins the vote, is what we'll fold to.

Voted for 1,500,000. BTW, what is the theme for this contest. I folded in the one with Fishy and Seven, on Seven's side folding for Team AMD.

Unfortunately the nefarious capitalist pigs from Team Intel won the day :p

I think we should have a theme. I quite liked the Capitalist vs Socialist thing we did last time, although I might have gone a little overboard with assigning ranks and modified USSR shoulderboards (for the avatar) to various team members. ;)

Also, if it's not being called WW5, then what is the comp to be called. I rather like the idea of "Food Wars: The clash of the Cooky Crusaders & the whetever the other team is"

Aye, 1.5mil

i thought that the 1 million point amount would be well suited for the competition. If we manage to get the kind of point output we had during WW4 then this would prbly have the competition last 3, maybe 4 months, anything longer than that might end up getting overly long with people losing interest.

just my two cents...

Thats up to each team to decide on. There is no "theme" as its draft style, and no one will know where they end up untill the day before. All in an effort to make it as fair as possible.

Also the race is called "Not WW5"

But if you simply allocate which team each person is on it'll kind of take the fun out of it.........

It seems like what ever I do, someone wants something else.

If you can gather enough folks that don't like the idea of the draft, than I can chnage it.

I need to know by Sat.

Have someone start a Poll for you.

Just keep it the way it is PMS... I for one like it the way it is... This is a major advancment in races with not having to change names. I dont want to fold for cookies... but that dosent mean I cant go get drunk with my fellow folders on the other team. Bet Frank would give them cookies also....

And Im free agent or where ever the rules say Im to go.

A draft works best and ensures parity at the start, if the captians have half a clue. :D

I like the 2 million points better, gives everyone a chance to get all their points in that way. There are a few suckers like me that have a number of dogged slow rigs folding.

I agree with Chasr and psyshack, Leave this contest draft style.

Oh and one more thing, only the REAL folders out there vote for 2 mil. Come on, anything less is cowardice.

I voted for 1 million myself, but 2 million would be cool too. Since everyone stays folding under their own name, there's no real reason to make it a short contest.

I voted for 2 mil, but c'mon with nikhsub1(not to mention other top 20 folders) in this race I would have voted for 10 mil if that was in the poll :p

My point exactly! This war, "Not WW5" will dwarf all other previous wars because of the fact that no one will have to change their folding name to join a team. Hence many of the big guns around here can join up and not have to change hundreds of configs. And not to mention some of us don't have easy access to all of our borgs.

So STOP voting for 1 mil all you weenies!! :p

It's even now. After hearing the comments, i'd like to change my vote to 2M :)

I voted 2M. With nikh and the other top folders in it, even that will probably go pretty fast. With just nikhsub1's 11000PPD, the contest would end in half a year or so. If you add up the top 6 or so producers, you get roughly 31000PPD. Divide 2,000,000 by 31000 and you get roughly 65 days, just for the top few producers. The contest would be over in probably a little over a month with 2M, depending on how many people are in it (I didn't add up every name, obviously).

OK, I'm convinced 2M is the best choice and want to weenie out of my original 1M vote.

At my (our) current rate of production, I'll produce 2,000,000 in less than 10 months by my (our) self.

Maybe we should go for three million? Maybe 4 million?

I was thinking 2 million, 3 teams.

That should slow production down enough.

We have about 72,256 PPD total for everbody in the race right now. Assuming the teams are split perfectly evenly, each team would have 24,085 PPD if we have 3 teams. For 2 million points at that PPD, it would take 83 (2 3/4 months) days or so. With a 1 million point goal, it would take 41.5 days. With 1.5M, it would be ~62 days.

If we were to do 2.5 million, it would take 103 days, or about 3.5 months. That is getting too long for a race as people will likely to start losing interest in it and not care about as much, as we saw some in WW4.

If we have a goal of 2M with 2 teams, then each team will have ~36,128 PPD. Each team will finish in about 55 days.
I still stick with my 2M.

The poll seems to indicate 1 million, but the results would be 2 million if people were allowed to change their votes. It looks like the first team to 2 million points will be the winner.
