let me start off by saying that all you successful overclockers out there are inspirational to me... haha. i want to oc too, but i've run into a couple of probs and i was wondering if you guys could help me out... my guess is that it's my nasty mobo, but i'm not sure so here's the info:

shuttle av61 (wah...), 800 celeron slot converter w/ globalwin fop38, ati xpert1999/2000, crucial 256 mb pc133, 4gb hd, 1.25gb hd, 300wATX... etc.

now with that info of the main parts, i'm sad to say that if i clock any higher than 100 fsb my computer becomes unstable... even 103 will start to become unstable after a couple of minutes, but at 800, it's totally stable! i don't think voltage is an issue... especially at a low oc of 103 or 105, right? and i don't think it's heat because i have 7 fans to cool the system and that fat fop38. and this might not be an accurate way to test the heat, but since i don't have a thermostat... when i put my hand above the cpu, the air is relatively cool. can't be the ram (i think). and i don't think it's the video card because i can overclock that with the ati tweaking tool. and other parts shouldn't be a factor because i booted up with the bare minimum and still it showed me endless blue at 105fsb.

so... someone help me if you can, please. mobo? slotket? hds? those are my three guesses... and the last two don't seem like the prob to me. i know i might be better off buying a whole new system, but i'm determined to oc this one. please help. thanks.

oh yeah... and if it is a mobo prob, can someone recommend to me which one to get and where to find a good one for a cheap price? thanks.

Well that does sound strange. Sounds like you've tried to do some cooling mods and as you suspect, I would think you could go up to at least 112 FSB with that setup. Did you use a good thermal paste when you installed the CPU cooler? If so, maybe try to reapply it and reinstall the cooler. Those FOP coolers are heavy and I've had to carefully reinstall mine before when too much paste got squeeze out. The only other thing I can suggest is to raise the core CPU voltage up a little. If your motherboard does not have a voltage setting, your slotket should be adjustable. If you really want another motherboard, I have an Abit SE6 that will work for you. Email me privately if interested.

Hi, College.
Hdd? Mobo? - never heard of it. Ram ok. Celly ok. Cooling Ok. What are specs on that mobo? will it allow above 100fsp?

As Batboy says? Strange. --- PS. I use the Abit BE6-II with a 700E Cco chip at 1 gig +. - O/C is a chain of integrated components. If one is out all are out. Do a little more research.
