Just did a 600 dollar conversion from Athlon 64 to Intel-EMT (broke about even, by selling my AMD stuff)

So everything I have is intel.. or apple-

Someone is offering to trade me their 1.4thunderbird custom for a powerbook 1400 laptop.. I HAVE TO TAKE IT

What kind of overclocking can I expect from this ?

Thunderbirds were heat monsters and generally didn't overclock very well if stock was over 1.2ghz, especially those at the upper speeds like the 1.4ghz (top speed Thunderbird).

Quite a few of the 1.4 Tbirds could do 1.6GHz, which is pretty respectable, especially considering the sweat deal you have on it. You will need a good heatsink on it if you plan to OC it. An older SLK-700/800 would be great but even an SK6 won't do too bad. Those chips can take a lot of heat.
