Cs:s=super Lag

back in january i was able to play cs:s. then they released some stupid update that made it unplayable. i would get normal ping on the server list but once i join the server the pint would go up to 1000+. ive tried to go to the "create your own game" thing and i was getting super lag on my own server. what gives? this doesnt happen on my dell laptop. the graphics card is a 9600xt.

you are probably experiencing a drop in fps, not "lag".

turn down your graphics, and post your cl_rate, rate, cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate

all those codes will raise your fps yes, but make the game look very crappy, i love eye candy, but hey i have everything on highest and i still get up to 200 fps, not to brag... i have heard of some people on alienwares getting up to 400, probably CL..
