I really want this board on the abit site it said that the AW8-MAX will be available in may sometime I really want it

hmm it would be great if they shipped to Australia but still a good sign shoudnt be to far away in Australia

just wait and get the regular AW8.. unless you need the -max features. Should be 20-30$ saved I'd say.

What are the actual differences between the max and non max AW8?

As near as I can tell, the extra Max features will be dual Gigabit LAN, RAID, and firewire.
