I was thinking about buying this proc. as an upgrade for my computer. I have a 2.8 Northwood right now.

Anyone know what stepping this is, and do you think i can get 4 ghz on water cooling?

Its possible, depending on what steppings you get. Or you can go down to a local computer shop and ask what steppings they have .. thats what I did with my 3.2e .. got the steppings I wanted ^^.

Only local shop is Comp USA here, and their website only lists the 3.2 not the 3.4 ghz.

Also, what is the ideal stepping?

I went to PCClub *Slaps Self* they gave me a 3.2e Pressy for $225 with requested steppings. I dont know the 3.4e's ideal steppings but if you are interested in a 3.2e, disired steppings: SL7KC (DO) or SL7E5 (DO) or SL7PN (E0). Those are probably the highest overclocking steppings I can think of. Im sure someone will tell you ideal steppings for 3.4e's.
