I have seen that you can connect certain pins to "unlock" the cpu but my mboard autodetects the cpu speed so what do i do?

you need to unlock the multiplier.
to do this, you need to connect the L1 bridges on the chip. this can be done with a conductive pen, OR a pencil.
however, you DO need to manually change the settings in your BIOS. what motherboard do you have, chip, etc?

Welcome to the forums.
To learn how to connect your bridges read the begginers guide on the front page. As for the motherboard we need to know what kind it is to see if you can change the multiplier in the bios. If not you will need to do it by connecting or disconnecting bridges and then you will really need to do some reading.

my mboard is a gigabyte 7ixe4 and im running a 115mhz bus speed with a 600mhz duron so it running at 690 mhz i have mounted a fan on the outside of my case and it keeps it really cold so i figured i could overclock but my mboard autodetects my cpu so how can i manually after connecting the l1 pins set the multiplyer?

From what I could find by doing a search of your board on google it does not support Multiplier changes so the only way to do it would be by changing bridges on the chip itself.
Here is an articule that will tell you how to do it.

btw, the morgan-durons (1 and 1.1 ghz) have different bridge-settings!
couldn't find any more specific information on that. as soon as i find something i'll post it here.
