well that depends really.

the gf2 series never had good quality over 1024x768 so i would say none of them.

but the radeon 64 has awesome color depth at any resolution just there drivers suck

get radeon 64 for quality

get geforce 2 pro or a higher geforce for proformance

The Gigabyte one does stand out to be pretty much the best Pro vard avaliable, considering it only have 322mb DDR ram

ive heard of better img quality for the radeons and i really would enjoy to get one - but ppl also use to say about bad development of their drivers and thats a huge minus point on them i guess.

what about MSI SF831? im not sure if i could find it here in são paulo but it seems to be a good board, is it?

I have a Radeon 64 ddr and many others on this board have Radeons as well. Those that claim there is a driver issue do not even own the card so how would they no.

I have owned a Geforce card and I have now switched back to ATI cause nvidia 2d video quality/clarity as well as the 3d quality in my opinion is no where near as good as ATI.

The 64 DDR Radeon will outperform or equal a Geforce 2 Pro card at 1024 x 768 32 bit colour and thats a fact. Till ya own one there is no need to comment about ****ty drivers. I use the beta 7530 drivers and have not had any issues and the cards performance is great In fact I am just going online to do some UT gaming and I look forward to the crisp sharp detail the ATI card can offer.. You be the judge , in my opinion yoiu can get a 64 DDR Radeon for as cheap as $145 US , thats a deal or buck up and pre order the radeon 8500 at dell.com for $203 thats what I would buy if I lived in the USA no question about it!!!!

Radeon is a great card all around and it also provides excellent DVD playback....

My 2 cents worth

i beleive u Cisco. thats not an easy decision once im planning to keep the new card for a long time: here is actually the main issue about choosing between nvidia (unified drivers and frequent development - at least unofficial) and ati (performance plus great img quality). for all that time id like always to count with newer and better drivers.. maybe ill still bet on the radeons.

I know we all love performance here at overclockers.com thats why we are always looking for the smallest improvement LOL.

I look at drivers this way, If I find one that works well beta or official and it does not give me any probs and performance is good I would just keep it.

Just for clarifactaion i had a gts2 then i went to a radeon then i went to a gf3

the gf3 2d beats the radeon and same with 3d performance. but costs alot more.

alot depends on your screen resolution i run at 1600x1200x32 and the gf3 so far has clear clarity over the radeon but the radeon beats it in price

wait a month you could probably get a gf3 for under 200.00
