I would like a desktop replacment + college laptop. I don't want Dell, HP, compaq, or Gateway. I do want hypersonic, Acer, iBuypower, Sager, ect.
Included in this thread I want to know what would be better, for battery life. The pentium-M, or an AMD 64-bit with low-voltage. The Pentium-m's have catched my attention so i just wondered if they are a better buy.

I do play some high-end games like America's Army and GUild wars. thats what i would like to play on the go.

I would like to have:
~Pentium-M 1.73Ghz (FSB 533mhz)
~1gig of RAM (Kingston)
~60GIG HD
~I would think that a Radeon 9700 pro with 128MB would work for me but if you can find a 6600 or 6800 that would be fine.
My price limit is about 1500 maybe higher if the price isn't that far away from my limit.

Thanx for your input!

I have seen the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A Widescreen (I think) with a mobile A64 3200, 512mb memory and Radeon 9700 graphics as well as a 15.4" widescreen. I have seen it for £820 which is $1485 but would probably be cheaper in the US.

Err, won't that be rather expensive?

Might be expensive but worth it, i can save my money, and as for Dell. TO many past disapointments

Look at the Sager 3880, this is what I am really eyeing right now. uses the 6600, or the 4880 which has the X700 in it :)

Lol no idea why you don't want a Dell.

My gf had the Dell 9300 and it is incredible. Best laptop I've seen in a longtime and it's freakin cheap for what it comes with.

yeah the acers are nice, but you will have to replace the processor with a turion if you want battery life.

I know you dont want a dell, but my 9300 is pretty nice, places everything well, I get 15300 in 3dmark 20001, 7096 in 3dmark2003, and 2700 in 3dmark 2005 as well as 92 FPS at max settings 1440x900 in CS:S, I can get a little more than 4hours bat life, have 100gigs HD space, and I spent 1250. I know you dont want one but as of right now the 9300s are the best deal
