I switched my nic to the bottom slot to see what would happen. what happened was it was stable once and then everything slowed down bad. so i switched one up and it got slower then 1kB/sec. Then I put it back to the original spot and it worked fine(slot 3). Does anyone know what would cause that, or should i just be happy it's working again? it's an iwill kk266.
diffrent irq's and io ranges the comp is probably trying to share it(the irq and io) in the other slot

Resource and IRQ sharing.
different PCI slots have different IRQ numbers, 1 & 3, and 2 & 4 usually share an IRQ, the 1 & 3 have a slightly higher IRQ than 2 & 4, but it shouldn't affect anything as significantly as you said, unless you have another PCI card that is really busy, or that doesn't like to share resources.
