very roughly how do the ARM and Xscale chips compare clock for clock with say current Pentium 4s or to make it easier P3s or Bartons. Iyonix sell Acorn clones with 1024 MB DDR and an Xscale 600Mhz CPU running RISC OS 4 (which they claim has a 4MB footprint!?) how fast would these be?

for their purpose, they are very fast. it's not fair or easy to compare, as they are meant for running different software architectures.

yeah, but don't windows CE and windows mobile exist for Xscale and ARM and X86? couldn't some comparisons be done on this basis?
