pc133 cas2

right now i have pc100 cas3 memory running at 124mhz. would my system be noticeibly faster if i upgraded to pc133 cas2 memory.

my mother board is an abit bx6 rev 2 and i'm running a p3 1000e cdo @ 1240.

I did much the same thing, I didn't notice the switch to CAS2 at all except in my benchmark scores. It was like a 10% or so boost. Good, but not great :)

But, since memory is just so dang cheap, why not score a few sticks of high quality RAM. Might even let you overclcok higher with better RAM too!:D

I have 768 megs of ram in my 4 ram slots on my motherboard. 256-128-256-128

two of them are being wasted with 128 meg sticks so i might just have to replace it all and get 4 sticks of 256 meg pc133 cas2 memory. might as well go for a gig.

found this at crucial.com for like $33 for 256 meg sticks.

right now i have ecc memory. correct me if i'm wrong but isnt non-parity memory faster than ecc.

Yup, ECC memory is indeed a bit slower. Not really needed unless you runs a heavily loaded server 24/7, as it only detects memory errors caused by physically bad memory, that doesn't happen too often- especially from Crucial!
