My other computer (pentium 100) running Win98SE has two problems.

1. It freezes on at the command prompt when I go into DOS from windows.
2. It freezes on the "Windows is shutting down" screen when I click Shut Down from windows.

I formatted the hard drive and re-installed but it did nothing to help. I also noticed the my autoexec.bat is empty. config.sys doesnt exist at the moment, but it was present and empty before I formatted.

Does anyone know how to fix these problems?

Thanks.

Thanks.

this is normal, 98se does not use these, except with some old hardware and for dos support.
