Hi,
I had the wake on lan feature work well with my other motherboard (kk266plus r) in my server, but after installing the p4p800 dxl in the server, I am using the 3c940 gigbyte onboard nic, I can not get the wol feature to work.
Here's what I have done so far:
1) In bios, set the Onboard lan = enabled, onboard lan boot rom = enabled
2) In winxp pro, set the power state to standby
3) Onboard Nic, advanced setting, wake on lan = both
4) Current power state = D0 for the onboard nic (does this need to change and if so, how?)
I have tried the Rshutdown2 and rntshutdown progs to remotely shutdown the computer and they both worked.
I have used the mc-wol.exe and wol.exe progs with the nic's mac address. On the KK266 board it worked. On this board, it's a no go. BTW. The mac address of the old board's nic (dlink) and the onboard nic's mac address are the same. Can this be?
thanks,
octavious
