Well i got a GF2 PRO 64 ddr, TV OUT, and he wants a new card, i want a Radeon 64DDR VIVO so he said that he'd order the Radeon 64DDR VIVO and then trade me for my card and $10. Is that a good deal, i want the VIVO so i can capture video to mpeg on my puter.
I run 32 bit color at 1280x1024 res, windows Xp (does Radeon have Xp drivers?)
just wanted some opinios on the trade, i play games mostly like Unreal T - Counter Strike. Stuff like that. WIll i lose 3dmarks, the GF2 is 200/400 default what is the rating of the Radeon speed wise for the core and mem

well as of now the xp drivers for the radeon arent that good, i know in 98 the 2d was great and the 3d at least in opengl games rocked.
but i always had a problem in W2K
hopefully when the 25th comes around they will have a decent driver set.
there worth about the same but if hes buying it new then the trade and 10 bucks would work
That doesnt sound like to bad of a deal, but if you are really concerned with video capture I would seriously consider the AIW radion. I love mine, it has tons of great stuff for capturing video. I especially like being able to record TV shows and watch them later, or watch TV on demand, and capture shows and edit them. Sence my monitor is larger than my TV and has better quality it is very beneficial to me. Now with EZ CD creator 5 I can capture shows like South Park and burn them to a video CD and watch them on a DVD player. The only disadvantage I can see is half the memory, but the card still performs well (when you have the right drivers). I guess it is mostly a big toy, but most all of my computer is.

I do not agree with you I have a radeon 64 DDR vivo and I have been running it in XXP with beta Win2k drivers and I have not had any problems at all. Second who cares about 2dmark cause it is geared for nvidia chipset and in my opinion it is for bragging rights.
The 64 Radeon will equal or better a G2 Pro card at 1024 x 768 32 bit colour in framerates and the 2d video and 3 d clarity/ qualtiy simply blow the Geforce cards away. The card rocks and has many features not utilized by todays games.
I would suggest if you can scape $203 US together you can get the baddest card to cme out from dell.com a Radeon 8500 which will beat the G3 or has been shown to already with pre production drivers. Bet my lats dollar ATI has a serious winner here.
My 2 cents worth

More Please - is the 3d quality really that much better, and what is core/mem for radeon 64DDR, is it at least 200/400. Ya im not too worried bout 3dmark, juse watn REALLY crisp 3d graphics, i dont wanna lose anything in the trade excpet maybe not as good drivers, but its still 64megs and DDR -and has the video in option that i want. I can record video on my pc from TV with the VIVO right?
Ya I suppose you can record TV with VIVO if you do analog (or maby S-Video) out from your VCR, DVD, or TV. If you want to plug your cable into your card, you need a TV tuner card which is what the AIW is. They took a Radeon 32DDR and stuck a TV Tuner on it.
The new AIW Radeon 8500DV is 64Mb, but the price wont be decent on this card for a while.

The AIW Radeon is great for a multimedia card, it is OKAY for 3 d gaming not the greattest though bit slow there as it is a tuned down 32 ddr radeon.
Killer price already available on 8500 compared to a G3 card which it will beat!!!
Depending on version of 64 ddr vivo Radeon you get the original ones had 166/166 and the last generation called Second Edition Radeons came with core and clock of 198/198 w 5 ns ddr ram, people on the board such as Pinky can give you more insight into how high they can be overclocked plus these cards run cool to begin with, but he has his at 234/234 no problems probably will go higher.
Radeon cards like to run asynchronous, core /mem at the same speed or they get quirky. Then there was a middle version that came with 183/183 core/ mem and 5.5 ddr memory (what I have but I plan to return and get second edition saying my TV out don't work LOL, just bought 17 days ago) heheheh sneaky eh??
Yes the 3D and 2 D quality is that much better period!!! Try www.dell.com you can preorder a Radeon 8500 for $203 after the 20% discount.
