I am trying to overclock P4 530 with my Shuttle SB81P. All goes well up to 215FSB. However, anything after that, even 1mhz higher, I couldn't get the computer to post.
I am pretty sure it's not the CPU, because it's priming stable at 1.3v @ 48C full load as I am typing this thread right now. I found this article (http://www.techreport.com/reviews/2004q3/shuttle-sb81p/index.x?pg=7) stating Shuttle still haven't overcome the "overclock lock" rumored to be incorporated into the 915G chipset. Couple questions regarding this, is there really a "overclock lock" on 915G? If that's true, anyone know Shuttle has new bios that removed the lock?
I also read somewhere if you raise the PCI-e clock speed, sometimes you can get more FSB out of the system. How will this affect system stability if I choice PCI-e clock speed to sync with FSB?
Anyone has better luck with overclock SB81P or know someone that does?
