Hey, I had the same thing happen with my computer. But sadly it turns out I had crushed my processor and that was the problem. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news if that is the case, but before you go and replace the cpu also check to see if like a screw or something is stuck under the mobo I've heard this causes the same kinds of problems. Good luck.

what he was talking about is a short. Follow this to troubleshoot:
1. Make sure CPU and RAM are well seated
2. Make sure ribbon cables are connected well.
3. Look for a short! This is usually the most common mistake, make sure no metal is shorting and also, make sure you leave some PCI slots clear in between the AGP and the next PCI because that can cause shorts too.
4. Do you hear a beep when you hit the power button? A short beep indicates that your motherboard has successfully started up and it is most likely to be an AGP problem. Unplug and reinsert the AGP card.
double, triple check the ram. DDR takes more pressure to seat properly.

Sounds like a mobo with a defect. I've built tons of systems and I've had this happen about 4 times. It powers up everything seems to run but not post beeps, no post, blank screen. One thing to check before RMA's the mobo is that your not shorting something. Don't worry its probably not your CPU.
