:bang head: Alright.... just put together a new computer.... new mobo, cpu, and hd.. still using old cd drives, psu, and video card. My computer has been freezing lately, i pretty sure its the video card, but i dont wanna replace it and have it not be the problem
It freezes when im playing a game, when its sitting there doing nothing... just as random times. I would check with MBM to see if it over heating but i never could get it to work... i need some help figuring out whats going on here.
It might help if we had the system specs....Including your PSU wattage..

If it is an old card, and it worked before it may be something else. Is your new system overclocked? Does it freeze when you run something like prime95?
And yeah, specific specs would be great

AMD 64 2800+
ATi Radeon 9800
350w PSU
Asus K8N-E Deluxe mobo
and no, my system is not overclocked.
oh.... and this freezing was going on in my old system also, so im left with it being the PSU or video card.

Is there any possible way that you can switch out PSUs or video cards, even with a slower/lower wattage one? If not, what kind of PSU are we talking about, stock, OEM, retail, what?

well... i ran prime95 for about 5 hours, and no errors or warnings.
The PSU is a Antec SmartBlue 350-Watt Power Supply.

I have an old video card i could put in there, but i had the same problem with that card awhile ago... the card i have now held up for about a year, now its freezing again.
Use speedfan from www.almico.com/speedfan.php to check the PSU voltage. Also might want to make sure the card is cooled properly. I had a dead fan on my Ti4200 cause random lockups.
