I need a program that will fill up my drive with data. As bizarre a request as it may be, i need to find out which of my drives in my raid array is failing. Theres no important data on the drives i just want to find out where the bad blocks are on the disks. Any idea of a program that could do such a thing or if not, any ideas for a script that will just make a txt file about 50 gigs?
Cheers,
Kryo
I might have the program for you.... I wrote it a while ago, and it had the side effect of filling the HD REALLY quick. I just ran it, disks set to 256, and after 20 seconds (I quit before it finished...) it had made a 50Mb file. Should do you fine.
Uses DOS... Give it a descently large number for the number of disks. I used 256, and even though it didn't finish, it STILL made a 50Mb file....
Hope it fills you right up!

hehe, nice program. However when i try to use a large number for the file it freaks out and says "It requires -1 moves to do this Hanoi Tower" then crashes hardcore. Might just be win98, ill try it on my 2k machine. What language did you use to write it btw?
