I gave in and coughed up $7 for an account. I've got a schmoozing function tonight so I might not be able to post anything until tomorrow. Also, I would need a host for a screenshot.

I'm so tempted to cough up the 7 bucks for this, even though I'm not a big FPSer online. Been waiting for a long time for this hopeful gem.
What exactly is it? A new FPS?

How's everybody's FPS? I'm getting about 35fps on medium settings, 1024x768, no AA and no AF.
Downloading as we speak. Might not play until tomorrow. Sorry for the delay but I haven't had the time.
Why are you guys getting conned into paying $7 for a BETA of a demo for the MULTIplayer portion of what is supposed to be primarily a single player game??? Just BT it and enjoy for $0.

Are you saying we should get the beta off of bittorrent? Or the full game?
FEAR is pretty sweet. Unfortunatly, I had to reinstall windows, so I still have to reinstall the beta. I'm gonna go do that right now. :santa:
Well now. I played the demo for about 15 minutes and quit. The graphics were bad, the sounds were bad, it was bad. For their sake I hope the final version is a LOT better.

I disagree, the graphics are pretty good, despite some bad aliasing when entering slow-mo. The sounds are good, except for the footsteps, and overall, slow-mo deathmatch is awesome.
And the rag dolls actually gib in this game :D
I threw a grenade into a corridor, and it ended up decapitating a guy.

The multiplayer beta you're downloading off of fileplanet is available on BT and since the key is the same for everybody playing it online is no issue. The full game is not finished yet and won't be released until August.

bite me. It's a scam making people pay for a beta of a demo. Neither fileplanet nor Monolith/Publisher should make any money off of this garbage. The final game of course but not this.
ok, maybe I was a bit harsh, but I was expecting to be really impressed, which I wasn't.

Its fine that you think that they shouldn't be making any money off the beta, and you are entitled to your opinion. Neither fileplanet nor Monolith is forcing anyone to pay for it, if people want to pay for it then they can.
However, you should not be telling people how to download it when in fact it is not free content. It's not your unalienable right to play a closed beta for free, it is still copyrighted.
