Can TCC5's do DDR600?

Yes it can. OCZ uses speed binned TCC5 in their PC5000 DFI Special memory, which is specc'ed for 313 MHz :).

And yes, all the memory that once used TCCD, and now uses TCC5, is still manufactured on the various BrainPower PCBs.

OCZ Platinum Edition PC5000

That 313 FSB.

PC4800 is DDR 600 or 300 FSB.

All the OCZ Plat is now TCC5.

The 4800 and 5000 always were.

The PC5000 is rated at 3-4-4-10 3v.

The 4800 is 2.5-4-4-8 I think. Might be lower than 3v too.

PC5000 is probally a safer bet, but Im willing to guess that the PC5000 and PC4800 are identical in every way. Only the timming differeing, and allowing for more scalibality.

All my PC4800 does PC5000 or better at 3-4-4-10.

Nice, I was planning on getting some OCZ Plat Rev2 (for my Bday) since my XL's top out at DDR580 and fail 32MB SuperPI although I got 80 passes on memtest #5/#8  . Along with that I was going to get a LBBLE so I can finally do 300*9 without using divider.

My 4200EL TCC5 does DDR614 :)

From not a review that's not too old, the OCZ Platinum PC4800 ram is supposedly TCCD. So are some of the OCZ ram still using TCCD?

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/memory/display/ocz-ddr600.html

Well OCZ said themsevles that the PC4800/5000 has always used TCC5.

Im not sure how true that is, but it doesn't matter what ICs are on the RAM, as it flys either way.

Also, I see that they say that its TCCD, but I don't see a picture of the RAM naked. My guess is that they are just assuming that its TCCD and not actually checking to see what is under the pretty heat spreaders.

So, is TCC5 just the same as TCCD? I ask b/c from reading the OCZ Clarification Statement: http://www.ocztechnology.com/aboutocz/news/31

I wonder if ram that doesn't pass say PC4800 speeds are then used as PC3200. I'm looking to trade for some OCZ Platinum PC4800 and wonder if this will be fine or should I look for TCCD.

If you are getting TCC5, the higher the rated speed the better since it is binned by OCZ. My take on it is the higher rated stuff (4200, 4800, 5000) will do the high speeds (>DDR300) but the 3200 will prolly not reach the speeds the older TCCD stuff will.

4800 will prolly be able to run some decent speeds, or even the 4200EL is good.
