Ok, so here is the issue. Just got everybody in my house wireless cards, and I am trying to get rid of all the wires. Only thing though is that I still have a wire running across the hall from the dsl modem to the router (because the dsl modem for some reason will not connect off the phone line in my room. Help with that would be greatly appreciated as well). Was just wondering, is there a such thing as a wireless DSL modem?
why not just move the router closer to the DSL modem? your router should have enough range to cover the house. also, make sure you don't have a filter on the jack in your room.
Is there any reason you can't move it across the hall in to the same room with the modem?
There are DSL modems with built in router's and wireless. But I would agree with the others, simply move the router, but if you are serious on this then the SpeedStream 6200 is what you want, its a wireless dsl modem with built in 5 port router.

Reasoning for not moving the router, is cause under my bed, about 2 feet away from it, is a server computer. its the only computer im leaving on a wire, and thats because:
1) Im freaking poor, and these wireless cards are alittle too pricey to go and buy another right now. I know the modem would be pricey as well, but there are also a few other reasons for me keeping it on a wire.
2) One of the other reasons im keeping it on a wire is, its running on Linux. I dont wanna go through the hassle right now of setting up the wireless drivers.
EDIT: Also, the SpeedStream 6200. Good idea, but one thing is it just has a slot for a wireless card. No actual functionality built in. If possible, I would like to get one with it built in. But, I will keep the 6200 in mind.
