I lost track of video cards. The last video card I baught was my Radeon 8500le 64meg. Now that games like Gta3 San andreas is out for pc, my video card is terribly slow with this game. Whats the cheapest, affordable agp video card. I can buy and get some results in gaming, with amd 64 3000+ and 1gig of ram. Is there any cheap video cards, that will overclock or can be modded.
Thanks

no not really, as its the 64bit version.. look around a little bit and see if you can find a 128bit version.. i hear they are the ones that are good overclockers :)

6200 is an awesome budget card. Mine mods fully into a 6600 and overclocks past it's speeds. I could still push it also, but I need a better cooler and ramsinks.

don't get a nVidea card you wont like it . ATI is much better and way faster!
I reccomend a nvidia whatever, you'll be happy with whatever! A 6800 would be awesome.

^^^
Quite possible the most worthless statement I've seen in a long time
I would look for a used 9700/9800np or p or a 5900U before I went with low end next gen cards. The older high end cards are often much much better even if theyre a gen older.

your kidding right? the XT and the XTPE are WAY better than any 6800U . !! :bang head this is ofcourse my personal view and I know there are lots of people that dissagree with me . but that too is there view on it and I would venture to say that it is a valid one . I happen to like my X850XT it is so sweeeeeeet!!! :p

I second that. The X850XT PCI-E version is what I have and it kicked but even before I overclocked it and kicked ass after I overclocked it. It's a great overclocker. If your budget permits you can't go wrong with it.

200$
Well first you need AGP card right?
For 200$ your best bet is 6600GT, or a 6800 Non-Ultra. Look up some reviews on each card and make your decision. I would suggest ATI cards but there are non that are worthy in that price range.
I think the 6800 NU will be better with the 256-bit memory but you can save up money by going with the 6600GT.

Listen, if you are not here to help then keep those remarks to yourself. Thats one of the most useless, uneducated, fanboy remarks I have read in a while.

the guy asked about what card he should get. we don't want to hear about "ATI IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN NVIDIA".

they did, but they've long since fixed that
anyways...for $200, id look around for a 9800pro/xt or if you want a "new" card, the 6600GT. I think newegg actually has the agp version of my 6600gt for 150, check it out.
6800s are barely under $200
