When I first did my water cooling system It was mainly external with the radiator and fan in a separate box http://xylicon.com/exp/downloads/cool_box_new_small.jpg

My case wasn't really LAN party ready so I modded my case and mounted the radiator in the top cutting out my special holes :) http://xylicon.com/exp/downloads/comp_mod_top_small.jpg

Any suggestions on the setup? And also as of right now I'am running 100% distilled water and my question is how much anti-freeze is sufficient enough to kill off bacteria and whatnot and prevent corrosion? (My whole system holds about .75 gallon)

Thanks in advance.

you should be fine like that, just run it like this, and see if you have any thing growing in a few months, if not, then you don't need any additives

but that looks like an aluminum radiator, so, you need to put about 10%antifreeze in i think

there's fans on that radiator, yes??

also, because you're running a mixed-metal system, using a 10% antifreeze mixture is highly recommended so that galvanic corrosion doesn't occur (Al + Cu = bad, but preventable)

i ran 10% antifreeze 90% distilled water roughly. i guestamated, and i also put about 20 - 25 drops of anti-algae

and same with sneaky.... you have fans for that radiator right? it would cool alot better if you are running it without it right now.

one thing you might be able to do is mount the radiator on top of the case with some small stand offs and then mount 2 or 1 fan(s) on the inside of the case to either blow or suck air through the radiator

also a note of observation, how hot does your PSU get and how warm is it getting the exit tube on the radiator>?

The air out of the back of the PSU is not very warm at all, and yes there aren't any fans on the radiator but all the fans in my case are exhaust and the only intake for my case is through the radiator (plugged all the holes), so 5 fans each roughly 50CFM = 150CFM going through that radiator, I can feel the suction from 5 inches away.
Right now im running 30C idle, I have yet to put it under load.
It sounds like the 10% anti-freeze mixture would be the best for me thanks for the help!
