HDTV problems with a 6600GT

I'm trying to use my MSI 6600GT with a HDTV. The 6600GT has component out which I am using. I don't want to use DVI.

The HDTV is capable of all the HDTV resolutions.

I don't want to use clone mode because my normal monitor runs at 1024 x 768, so I have been trying to use dual mode with the HDTV set at 1080i.

For some reason I lose all Windows desktop icons on the HDTV. The picture is clear and seems to be the full desktop...just no icons.

Any ideas or tips on setting up the 6600GT with a HDTV?

if it has no icons..maybe you're extending your desktop over to it, try to move your mouse over to it, or move a window over

I see the whole wallpaper from my monitor, but there is no icons on it. It's not an extension of my wallpaper...it's the whole thing. Just no icons.

When i extended my desktop if just repeated my wallpaper over..but if you tried moving stuff over, lol :-p I cant help

It looks just like whats on my monitor just no icons......it's strange.
