Hi guys,

I have one question:

Will most of the sticks that are sold with 6ns RAM chips run @166MHz FSB??? I saw some pretty cheap 6ns RAM(256MB) and also PC166 RAM(128MB).

Regards

One would think so.

But technically 10ns would be PC100. but its not.

8ns is PC100.

Easy way to find out what the speed is take 10 divide it by 6 it will come out to 1.6666666666

But for the chip to run stable we will back it up to PC150.

So all in all a 6ns DIMM would be PC150

10ns = 100Mhz really PC66
8ns = 125Mhz really PC100
7.5ns = 133Mhz really 133Mhz but CAS3
7ns = 143Mhz really true 133Mhz but CAS2
6ns = 166Mhz really PC150

Hope this was helpful.

I don't think that's correct (take a look @ Mushkin High Performance Rev.3+) they use 7ns Infineon chips and are guaranteed to run @ 150Mhz 2-2-2.

Hmm, I'm in the right forum? Overclocking?

Correct They are garranteeing 7ns to run at PC150 cause they are only overclocking it 7mhz, and they tested it to be 100% stable. But your would really want 6ns, because that would be a true PC150 chip. understand now??
