Ok I am going to in the spring build a AMD Duron based system, I was going to build a p3 setup, but found p3 prices are still to high...
Here is what I have so far:
Code Name: Mechina
Epox 8KHA (sucker does 160fsb!)
1ghz Morgan Core based Duron
512meg pc2100 DDR
Geforce GTS 64meg (my first Nvidia card)
Xgamer 5.1 sound card
OS Windows ME (with all fixes)
56k modem (all i can get) (may have one computer on 56k shareing if i get that one to work)
100/10 Network card
20 or 40 gig 7200 RPM ATA66 or 100
12x DVD rom
300watt PS
The reason im building this system is because, By summer I plan to have 3 computers in my room on thier own little network for games the other 2 setups:

Amd Athlon 1ghz Slot A classic
SY-K7VIA
Radeon 64 Sdr (non DDR version)
Voodoo2 ( for Tribes 1 and yes it works with my radeon, even under win2k)
30gig 7200 RPM ATA66 or 100
512 pc133
10/100 network card
56k modem (again maybe)
OS Win ME or 2k
12x DVD
52x Cdrom (for ripping)
300watt PS

All of these systems will be used to play the following games over network: Quake3, ~~~>Tribes 2<~~~, 4x4 Evolution,Revolt, UT, System Shock 2, StarSiege..more on the way.
Yes i know this will cost heck of alot of mula, but hey it will be worth it right?
Do you guyz see any improvements I could make price/performance wise?
the Angry system will be built at Chritsmas, The Black Stallion shortly after, and like I said the Mechina in spring.
all Systems will be hooked into a hub for network. I just gota find a place with cheap cases with out power supplies...shouldnt be hard.
