Hey Guies, here's the scupe, i have a first gen A7V Mainboard and a 1Ghz proc, it will run rock solid at 1.1 & 1.15 all with the buss at 100Mhz, but it seems that Windows doesn't like it at anything at or above 2Ghz, my guess is that since i have the Vcore at 1.9 (the max), and it isn't stable what so ever at 2 unless i can get the voltage any higher, anyone have any tips on how i might be able to do this???

I think you mean 1.2 GHz....

Might I suggest a better HSF. It seems you are fighting high temps, although not too high for the CPU, knock 7-10c off would help.

Yes, 1.2Ghz, am i bad. Yea i know the heat is causing some problems for me, but could stepping up the voltage help at all, and does anyone have any ideas on hoy to get past 1.9Vcore with an A7V

What is your CPUs steppings? Could be the CPUs limit...

I would gladly post my CPU's steppings as soon as i get some more thermal compound, i'm out and I dont wana scrape off what little is on it right now, hopefeully i can get something in the next couple days, till then:(

Cha Ching!!, I just found this (http://www6.tomshardware.com/howto/00q3/000928/) and i love it, anyone who owns an A7V Mobo, this is a must read. i'm getting that resister ASAP:)

You really really really really want to get some better cooling before you take that sucker up much higher.

Your temps look surprisingly decent for what you have, but I can't think that your chip would survive if you did much too it...such as increasing the voltage.

I advise with the strongest urgency I can that you get a better hsf before you go much further.

Yes, higher the voltage coud gain you some more oc. But first get your Temps under control. More voltage will fry you cpu if you are now getting temps that high. get a good heatsink, like Sk6, Alpha Pal 8045, Swifty etc...

ok, i get the drift, i know i really nead a better hsf than the piece of road kill currently on there, suposidly called an hsf;), i supose i should update my rig info though, i got some more case cooling and it's now running at an idle temp of 44c/111f and i thing the extra fans a doing a world of wonder for my grafics card which used to have a core temp above 54c and is currently at 41c after running Quake 3 for more than an hour, but thanx for the imput.
