View Full Version : Cd/DVD drive problem
Cd/DVD drive on my HP laptop is not reading, I have replaced it with a supposedly good one and still no go. Is there something that would stop it from reading such as a bad ide channel or something? whats the best way to check it out? thanks :shrug:
Is it set to the proper Master/ Slave setting- according to where it is on the cable?
Mabey its a bad IDE cable?
Try plugging it in to the other IDE channel
Do you have another PC you could try it out on?

make sure all the wires are connected....check the driver and make sure its there.....um rollback or uninstall and reinstall

Could be possibly a bad IDE channel, look in your Device Manager, is it showing up as UDMA 2?
