I need to get my rig up an running i have been using my neighbors for about a month now..

I bought a used motherboard of ebay .. the motherboard is unstable

Turned out there were burnt components on the motherboard...i myself have 2 spare motherboards i can use the spare parts to replace the burnt components..so i did ..

Anyways My problem is that my system runs overclocked and my ram especially ... i have the current volt mod for ram from this site

http://www.motherboardfaqs.com/abit/abit_mods.htm

i have done a nice job with the sodering everything is nice ... but the mod won't give my ram the power.. Im lookin for alternative roots to provide the ram with more then the lowsey 2.58 its getting now...

I try raiseing the voltage in the bios yet again .. if does nothing at all.... this feature on the motherboard is toast .. but the motherboard is still breathing.. can anyone help

thanks in advance

i dont have the links right now but search for tictac's site (forum, actually), they got more mods for nf7.
i think you should feed vdimm directly from the +3.3 rail at this point. this mod is pretty much universal for most boards, just browse around.

In order to use the extra VDIMM you need a psu that has .2 above what you are setting it to. So if you want 3.4 vdimm you need at least 3.6 on the 3.3 rail of your psu. If you have an OCZ, Sparkle, or Fortron psu this can be done easy enough by turning the pots up. If you don't you will need to mod the 3.3 rail of the psu.

Also you might want to try doing the mod this (http://www.malvescorner.net/images/nf7vddvbt.jpg) way. Its pretty much the same thing you just remove the resistor and solder the ground in a different spot. When I did the mod like you have there I had problems with the ground being consistant. You don't need the vbt mod but it does help when running high vdimm as that board doesn't track above the stock BIOS settings.

hey

thanks for your help... I have figured out the problem my motherboard... the voltage regulator was bad... would only allow for 2.6 to the ram even when the bios said... 2.9v... i changed it a along with the other burnt componets above and yup ... problem fixed .. running 250 fsb fairly stable... thanks for the help guys :p
