I am looking for the best way to check the temps of my GPU and CPU.. is there a good software out there that will read the temps or is hardware better to read temps..

What would you all suggest?

CPU get SpeedFan.
And you should be able to get GPU temperatures when you install your drivers.

Which card do you have? Ati or Nvidia?

Temp probes do a better job than the onboard sensors do. In many instances, the onboard sensors don't read properly below 40c (My vid card won't read anything below 40 for instance, and my cpu sensor jumps all over the place below 41c)

There are so many different types of thermister out there. Some common ones are Digidoc,Aerogate, Compunurse and so on. Depends on how much you want to spend really.
