First of I'd like to say that this is a great game, and if you have played fallout before you will take to this game well. Right now I'm going through the game with my evil elf mage, and he can kick some serious ass.
My strategy-
Since elves start with 15% magical apptitude, add to that the 20% magical app. you can get from the background "sold soul" and you start the game off with 35% magical app. ! Use one of your beginning points in harm. The character attributes you will want to bring up with a spellcasting character are constitution, willpower, dex (bring this up enough that you can max out the skill "dodge"- the only really useful skill you will have for this character). Intelligence should be at least 8. Aside from harm, the most useful skill trees are necro black, force, the one with unlocking cantrip and transport in it (I forget the name =P), and summoning.
Opinions/strategies welcome
