I'm thinking about setting up a wireless network(at the request of dad) and it will be between two computers--mine downstairs and my dad's laptop. Can I set up ics on mine by adding a wireless pci nic besides the standard one that connects to my comp and then use a pcmcia in the laptop to access it?

My suggestion would be:
For hardware:
use a regular PCI NIC, then a cross cable to this D-Link Wireless Access Point:

and then in the laptop, a standard wireless 802.11 card:

For software, use ICS or whatever you prefer for internet sharing.
If you get the wireless access point you don't need ICS.
