I was looking at giga-bytes website and the jumper settings for my cpu were different, and i was wonder what good/bad things could happen if I mess with it. I have read most the begginer guides, but have never actually messed with much other than install more RAM + Radeon.
If you mean you want to change the jumpers for the fsb or the multiple and you get that wrong either your system will take the new speed setting and work or it won't and either the system will crash during boot or it will refuse to boot at all. If you're refering to the voltage settings well then you might have a problem if you get things wrong. But for just the speed settings you shouldn't have any permanent damage if you get things wrong. Just change the settings back and the system should boot as it previously did.
Btw: Welcome aboard! :)
And if you do decide to eventually increase the voltage on your board DON'T set it anywhere near as high as I have mine in my sig, at least not until you've carefully looked into all of the options in detail. I've got some very heavy duty cooling that allows my system to handle such high voltage.

Look at your motherboard and look for tables printed on it you will be able to set the jumpers that way...

How do i tell which is the voltage? The only thing my manual says is "sw2" under it. Does anyone know what that means? It has 8 little switches.
Could you clarify that last bit for me? how's about direct quoting of what the manual says for switch 1 & 2
