Why can's i play Age of Empires 2 multiplayer??!

whenever i try to run a multiplayer game it asks me to insert my cd... which is allready in my cd rom drive... it won't recognise through my burner either... i can play single player just not any multiplayer!!!

it IS a legitimate version which was given to me, i tried a few different cracks and NONE of them worked!

is there meant to be 2 cd's cos i only got one...

getting very frustrated... i tried making a back-up cd, but it's the same problem...

i heard of some Cracks that let you play MP but i can tell were to find some but not sure if they work i hade a friend that he toled me they worked fine and hes got a "BACKUP" so i guess it should work great for you since you have the original ;)

i had that problem palying multiplyaer, just got fed up and uninstalled the damnn game.
