Well.......I was a real big intel fan the last few years, but I've decided that the pricing difference of the AMD processors is just to good to pass up any longer!

With that said....I have an Alpha Pal 6035[copper base],w\YS Tech fan, and I'm hoping that it will cool my already ordered Tbird 1.4\266.

I've had really good temps with the 1ghz p3 and the Alpha pal 6035, but I hear the Tbird needs a little more cooling than a p3 does.

I'm into buying a new heatsink in the near future, but it would be nice if I could use my existing one in the mean time!
When I do buy a new cooler, what would some of you guys recommend? There's so many coolers these days and any suggestions\experiences would be appreciated!

Thanx.

if you want the ultimate cooling solution with out breaking the bank then i suggest the theremalright sk6 as i know many people that have tbird 1.4@1.6 stable with this cooler.

Keep the Alpha, just put a nice but not terribly noisy fan on it. Like the 60 YS Tech @ 27 CFM

the pal6035 will handle the 1.4 but don't expect low temps the thing uses about 75watts off power and if you overclock and up the vcore you are going to need more cooling the hs is fine but I recommend getting a screamer! the other option that is good is the new monster 0845 but cost 50bucks.

look at a wbk and mod it to hold a 80mm fan that is probably the best noise to money hsf combo you can use!
