Well.......I was a real big intel fan the last few years, but I've decided that the pricing difference of the AMD processors is just to good to pass up any longer!

With that said....I have an Alpha Pal 6035[copper base],w\YS Tech fan, and I'm hoping that it will cool my already ordered Tbird 1.4\266.

I've had really good temps with the 1ghz p3 and the Alpha pal 6035, but I hear the Tbird needs a little more cooling than a p3 does.

I'm into buying a new heatsink in the near future, but it would be nice if I could use my existing one in the mean time!
When I do buy a new cooler, what would some of you guys recommend? There's so many coolers these days and any suggestions\experiences would be appreciated!

Thanx.

If you put one of the high-output fans like the Deltas on the Pal 6035 it bet youŽd be fine, even for overclocking. The Pal is old but still good

The 6035 can hang with a 1.4, you'll be OK for the time being. I've got same combination on my 1.4 and its stable. (ie right now idle per mbm is 37c) If you want to push yr speed a bit then yes you'll want to get a newer model. I just ordered Alpha's new 8045 but with a lower cfm fan as I want to cut noise - man I can't imagine how people can tolerate those deltas..

Before ordering an Alpha 8045 be sure to research the compatibility with your motherboard. The new Alpha is design along the latest AMD board specs. Just a heads up.:)
