I just built my spare system with my asus mobo and my stick of kingston 512(ddr 400) and a 2.4 northwood p4

the system ran fine for the first day.

I shut my system down and tried to start the next day nothing.

It wont post....

everything turns on. the hdd tries to spin up.
the beep code works when the ram is out.
if the processor is out when the mobo is on it doesnt post or beep either.

I have tried differnt video cards and a differnt processor and ram.

the processor and ram are good. I tried them in another system.

I have reset the cmos also. No luck

Any Idea what might be wrong.

I had one other of these boards that went bad and I did an rma and the board came back doa and the cross shipped this one to me as well.

I have not had good luck with asus boards so far.

any help before I rma this board too would be great.

i just rma'd my p4p800, just stopped working. weird was that a chip on the mobo itself had fried, it literally looked burnt out. look for a burnt out chip close to the audio outs on the mobo
