I just bought a dual channel GB pair (2x512) of XBLK from newegg... everythign I'd red says the PCD is red (some "other" version of the brainpower PCB), but mine is green. Anyone know what they're using these days? Any way to know w/o taking off the heat spreaders? Obviously, I also don't know if this is TCCD or TCC5 (or even something else?) I haven't even put this system together yet. MAYBE I'll get to it tonight.

XBLK is most probably TCC5 which acts the same way as TCCD.

Yeah, you can tell by the price that they are TCC5. I think that G-Skill are the only ones that still use TCCD, but I could be wrong.

I've never heard of XBL having red PCB.
Hmmm, that's odd... most of the reviews I've read mention the red pcb:

One of them even says the green may be a bit better (or more specifically, the green Brainpower seems to have given better results than the red Brainpower, which is a different version) which is why I asked the question.

Patriot TCCD

Last week before I ordered this same memory I called
tech support and asked point blank what memory was
being used in this set, the tech said he wasnt allowed to
say but did say that all that model was the same sense
the beginning to present time. I said or you sure and he
said yes. Im running them at 2.5-3-3-10 1t at 270.
Perfect so for, and hope this helps........
