finally got Farcry now that I have good comp, just a few ???

Better late than never, right? So I just want to know, how can you display the framerate? Also, this one bugs me too, sometimes it will exit while loading saved game. I think it's a GFX problem, my 6600GT should be plenty to run this but maybe I need to update the drivers. I'll have to wait a bit, 20mb and I dont want to tie up the phone line. Also the problem seemed worse the higher I had the GPU OC'd, it might have been unstable. But it'll still do it sometimes with the clock @ 500/1000.

hey just a tip, install patch 1.3 from their site, your 6600gt will get a image quality AND performance boost out of it

Yikes! You didnt mention it was 70mb! That's a freakin huge file over dialup. I'm at the public library d/l with thier DSL right now. :D

I'm just waiting a week untill I get hooked up at college. I've been having some textures blacking out, don't know the actual term, but like the where a patch of green grass should be it's just black, and this happened when I wasn't overclocked at all. Looked into updating and found out it was huge so I'm holding off for awhile. I'm a late bloomer into FarCry too, just happened to see it for $20 and was like, never too late.

I was having the same problems with the blacked out textures. Also had a few blue blotches rarely. I updated my nvidia drivers and patched Far Cry, so I dont know which one fixed it.
I decided to get FC when I was browsing thru Cyber Deal, Best Buy online had it for $15 with free ship, can't beat that.

It was the 1.3 patch that fixed the black patches. I put my 6800gt in and reinstalled FC and was having the same problem...then I relized I forgot to patch the game...works like a charm :cool:

Good stuff. I sort of figured that was the culprit, but now I know.
