ok, I don't see the bootup screen that much, due to my leaving my puter on 24/7. Anyway, I restarted last night for some hangup in windows and I noticed in the bootup that it mentioned something about not having a 80 something conductor cable......needless to say it flashed up on the screen and left so fast I couldn't read it. I was wondering if that info is stored in a file in the sys or some other folder that I can view it and find out what the deal is....Thanks in advance for any help :)

you could try to check in bootlog.* (I don't remember the extension), or reboot your computer, and when the message appears, press on Pause/Break on the keyboard, this should stop the process, then **I think** to restart the boot process press enter

Tried searching for a "bootlog" in the search menu, nothing :(
I think Bootlog is only created when you hit F8 and tell windows to create the bootlog file.
Only thing i can think of is hitting break, or mabey ctrl+break. Who knows, mabey a stuck key failure (just hold a key from the time you turn on your computer) could let that message stay on the screen....

Thanks for the help guys, it was the "pause/break" key that did it.
