ok i have two sticks of ddr266 viking 512mb and when i looked in cpu-z it said one stick was pc2100 and the other was pc2700... could you explain this?

those are just timings programmed into the sticks.generaly they mean nothing.
most pc4000 is just oced pc3200 tested to run that fast,but rest assured most are the same exact parts in the 3200 rated sticks.
