I got an Evga 6800 Ultra pci-express about 2 months ago. Evga has a 'step up' program within the first 90 days after purchase. You guys think I should 'upgrade'?

I have eVGA 6800U as well and I'm just going to wait for the prices to drop and get another one for SLI.

if the cost of it is just the difference - then I would wait out until as near to the limit as possible, even if the thing comes down by a penny you have saved something ;)

No extra cost. It's included in your product purchase.
Cool, do it would be my advice if its not gonna cost any extra :D

If there's no cost, why wouldn't everyone just buy 6800U's within a month before the 7800GTX comes out and then upgrade for free?
Can you post a link to eVGA's terms and conditions for this promotion?

I think your confused... the 'step-up' program is free itself, although actually 'stepping-up' is not.
Ah I see, thats what I meant as well. I would still go for it if it isn't going to cost too much extra though :)

You must pay the difference between the 2 cards.
You must pay the difference between the 2 cards.
Is it based on the current market price of your existing card, or price you payed for it?

Price you paid for it.
I paid $519 for the 6800U, so I will have to pay $95(shipping included) to upgrade to the 7800 card.

I just applied for the Step-up program. I paid $359 for my 6800GT----That means my 7800GTX will cost me $240 plus shipping. :)

The problem with that is that you never know the exact date when the new cards are going to be reelased. I lucked out I guess. I was originally going to buy my 6800 back in Feb, but decided to wait. Luckily I did wait.
