Hi , I have drilled a hole in the copper base of my heatsink all the way up trough where the vcore touches and placed a thermal probe in it , I have a Tbird 1.4 @ 1612 on a A7V266 mobo.
the temp that MBM gives me is idle 41 celsius and the probe gives me a 36 degrees celsius , a big difference!!
Wich temp should i consider the closed to real vcore? , should i at some degrees to the temps or are they fair enough to rely on?
Something strange.....i have the backside of the mobo cooled with a 80mm fan and my MBM temp dropped 5 C ! this was before i placed the heatsink probe , if i turn the fan off than the MBM temp raises with 5 C but the probe Drops 2 degrees celsius!!??
Anybody see's a connection?
Thanks !:)

i bet it has something to do with the fan blowing over the temp probe, that most likely gives it a wrong reading

If I were you I would trust the probe you drilled a lot more than MBM, which measure only the in-socket thermistor. The thermistor readings are, in my experience, just about worthless when it comes to OCing your stuff. Too innaccurate, except to see trends.

The fan on the back of the mobo was shown to affect the temp readings much more than the actual temperatures themselves. I believe it was an article on the front page, actually.
