Yup! So I finally got tired of PCI and I bought a motherboard with PCI e.
The questions for you people are...
1. Will I have problems switching motherboards and using the hardrive I am using right now?
2. Will I have to remove all the drivers from my old motherboard? before?after?how?
Any onther troubles i might come upon? This is my first time doing this, I am so tired of not being able to buy a PCI e video card that I am willing to risk everything.
as long as your staying AMD or intel, and not swapping out the cpu or motherboard chipset brand, meaning most amd boards use nvidia and most intel boards use intel chipsets...
i dont see an issue
BUT i have also just remembered hearing something about being able to swap motherboards even between AMD and intel type chipsets and still not have to install everything again, i believe it had to do with the main IDE channel..... as in disabling it in windows then shutting down the system and then swapping mobos and then booting system again... ill try and google and see if i can find it.
i found 2 sites with it, i remembered the 2nd site, the tweakxp.com when i was actually tweaking my XP the other day:
SITE #1 (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1755&page=5)
SITE #2 (http://www.tweakxp.com/article140075.aspx)
i havent heard anything about tweakxp's way. but tweakxp.com is really good and their explination is alot easier and simplier than the first site's explination.
