Small Problem

When I boot up it takes forever for it to change from bios to windows almost like it hangs and when I shut down It goes out of windows but then I get a black screen with a litte light blinking on the left top like I am in dos and it is waiting for me to type something I have to close it out with the start up button.

What version of windows are you using?

You could try updating windows, this may help with the shut down problem.

My brother machine had the same problem at startup, the only way we found to solve it was to re-install.
