I just recently got a Abit BE6 II board. For some reason I can't overclock my Celeron 400 on it. Before BE6 II I had a LX6, which I had the same Celeron clocked at 500 with no problems.
No matter what I change the info in the BIOS to, it always posts at 400. I can even change it to a 600 at 100 bus, still comes up as 400. I don't get it?!?! Running the latest bios update.
Please help.
Thanks
William

make sure your slocket is set correctly. Instead of Choosing the Option to make it a 600mhz celeron make it a custom cpu with 100mhz fsb, 2/3 AGP divider, and a 6 multiplier. That should get you going.

That's what I did. It doesn't matter if I choose bus 100 multiplier 6, or but 66 miltiplier 6, or bus 100 multiplier 8. it always posts at 400. At first I thought maybe its a mistake, but I run a hardware program in Windows and it says 400 procesor and 66 bus. Why would it always post at 400?
Thanks
What slotket are you using, and what are the jumpers set at on it?

I agree with william sounds like you arent using the BIOS correctly.
First, reset the to default (just to make life easy).
Second, go to 'Soft Menu III setup'
third when it tells you 'CPU Operating Frequency' select 'user define'
Now some of the script will turn from dark blue to white.
Scroll down to CPU FSB Clock (MHz) and adjust accordingly.
happy trails!

You can't OC at all? Or you can't OC to 100FSB?! I had a Celeron 400 sepp (slot1) on my BE6-II before and never got her above 500Mhz (83FSB). It doesn't matter what multiplier is set in BIOS, just change the FSB. You shoudn't start at 100FSB at all, see if she does 75 and 83Mhz first. 100FSB is a long shot for that CPU in general.

What about that Speed Error check or whatever.
