Amazon is having the this Dremel kit listed today only, it seems like an overkill for case modding but do you think being the price is equal to a lower end one new it would be better to wait until they are on sale?

If you read the comments, it seems to be a pretty poor model. A lot of people doesnt seem to like the newer series at all. Overheats and poorly designed. I went with teh 3956-02 model which was about the same price and I'm lovin it! No problems with it yet so far and excellent for cutting aluminum/steel. Also, I think Wal-Mart has it for the same price if I recall.

I purchased a black and decker one for 40 bucks...it has a stronger motor than the comparable dremel (2.0 to .8 IIRC) and felt like it was built tougher. This was probably 4 years ago now that I think about it, and my black and decker is still workin great. The Dremel which was the same thing was 70 bucks as well...definetly trying to milk it's name IMO.

Every manufacturer has a dud. My second pick would be B&D. It is always nice to hold a tool prior to purchase if you never used it before. There may be a feature that don't do nothing for you, or annoy you. Simulate how you would use to the tool. Most hardware stores/depts. have them ready for customers inspection for a reason.
