pci and AGP cards @ the same time?

I've heard of people doing this before, however when i tried to run an older ATI pci card, and my 9700 the computer would freeze during boot.

So if this is possible, what PCI videocard card could i use, that would allow me to use 2-3 monitors on seperate video cards without hassles?

currently i have an XFX 6800.

There would be a driver conflict if you use a ATI PCI card and the nvidia 6800.

I don't see a problem with that, obviously you'll get a better bang out of the 6800.
